Huntsman Textile Effects has launched a new generation of environmentally safe flame retardant finishes for 100% polyester, called Pyrovatex EXP.
The phosphorous-based technology is designed for decorative fabrics, curtains, upholstery and sun shades, and is said to provide optimal people and property protection by delivering to the highest flame retardant standards.
The exhaustion rate is reported to be at least 95% at the production process, continuing through to the finishing process, which Huntsman said generates substantial energy savings versus conventional processes.
Pyrovatex EXP meets all international FR standards, has no influence on the physical properties or handle, and does not yellow white fabric. The company also added that in line with its sustainable policies, the product contains no halogen, antimony, formaldehyde or metals.
