New cost-effective route to embroidery aesthetic

US company World Emblem has launched a more sustainable and cost-effective way to achieve the aesthetic of embroidery. Abigail Turner asks how Flexbroidery works as an alternative to direct embroidery.

US emblem and patch manufacturer World Emblem has launched its new trademarked Flexbroidery product as a more cost-effective and sustainable solution to direct embroidery.

Flexbroidery is designed to offer intricate detail and raised texture to fabric for a more vibrant look and can be applied in-house with low-melt heat seals. The goal is to provide the aesthetic of embroidery without the typical labour-intensive application process.

Randy Carr, president and CEO of World Emblem, said: “By embracing lean manufacturing – a system that reduces production and response times from suppliers to customers – as well as focusing on nearshoring/onshoring for production and order fulfilment, we are able to provide industry-leading turnaround times.”

The new patented Flexbroidery product, he added, has been designed to streamline production and reduce expenses for clients, which include the likes of New Era, Aramark, Cintas and Levi’s.

Carr explained: “Supply chain issues are continuing to affect the industry by raising costs and slowing distribution times, even as customers want their orders to be delivered quicker than ever.”
