Technology company Tengiva provides digital solutions for the textile supply chain.   

The Canadian company recently gathered at the Canadian Embassy in Bogota, Colombia, to discuss ways in which artificial intelligence (AI) could be used to develop the textile industry.   

Annie Cyr, CEO and co-founder at Tengiva, said: “We have built an ecosystem; a one solution that connects data between textile businesses, promoters, trade shows, trade associations, media and apparel garment manufacturers.”  

Cyr explained how it can be difficult to obtain basic information about products, with little visibility being available from mills or suppliers about what is in a product and why it is made in a certain way. Tengiva has created a digital supply chain system for the textile business to control its catalogue of products and everything around it.   

The company launched in 2018. Its client portfolio includes companies with annual revenues ranging from US $20m to US $700m+. Tengiva’s technology is available in more than 120 countries and serves more than 1,000 users, including fashion houses and leading manufacturers.  

Cyr said the Covid-19 pandemic rocked the textile industry, forcing it to do business in new and faster ways.
