Overview
Title: Competition between DTG and DTF
Date: Tuesday 16 April 2024
Duration: 48 minutes
Summary
The rise of DTF technology has posed a serious challenge to existing garment printing technologies, not least the entry-level DTG market.
This panel will discuss reasons why DTF technology is eroding DTG’s market share, and what DTG solution providers are doing to remedy the situation.
To capitalise on the growth of the DTF market, many DTG printer manufacturers have introduced hybrid solutions, whereby users can use one machine to print on both film and garments. However, ink formulations differ for each process, therefore the quality of a DTF print on a hybrid machine is below what a dedicated DTF printer can achieve. This panel will study the repercussions of this and the future of hybrid printers.
