Zürich, Switzerland– 28 July, 2025 – High-performance textile manufacturer, Ventile, has joined forces with the French B Corp clothing brand, Asphalte, to support the launch of its latest product, ‘The Lightweight Parka’ – built from Ventile L19 ORG.

The collaboration showcases how natural fibres can offer a sustainable and stylish alternative for outerwear, combining Ventile’s technical expertise with Asphalte’s commitment to product quality and conscious consumption.

Based in Bordeaux, Asphalte’s mission is to make sustainability accessible. With a pre-order model, the brand brings European-made products to the market, looking at its value chain, and limiting its environmental and societal impact.

Crafted from all-natural Ventile L19 organic cotton, the Lightweight Parka is tailored for a contemporary silhouette and retains its military-inspired features while allowing room for layering.

Key features include high breathability, wind resistance, and water repellence, handling light to heavy rain. In addition, its densely woven fabric swells when wet for added protection while staying breathable enough for comfort. Practical details include a fitted hood, flap-secured pockets, a tall collar, and a dual zip-and-button closure featuring sustainable buttons.

Daniel Odermatt, Ventile Brand Director, said: “We are proud to collaborate with Asphalte on this project. The Lightweight Parka perfectly showcases how our high-performance cotton fabrics can be used to create outerwear that doesn’t compromise on function, comfort, or sustainability.

“It’s exciting to see our L19 organic fabric being brought to life in such a modern and thoughtfully designed piece.”

Jeff, Head of Collection at Asphalte, said: “We were looking for a technical fabric, but one that’s natural. Ventile is tightly woven cotton with a great heritage. But it’s also a real textile feat: it offers protection from wind and rain without heavy chemical treatments, while staying highly breathable. It was exactly what we needed for this parka — an innovative alternative to synthetics that performs in real-life conditions and stays true to our environmental commitments.”
