Recent launches and industry commentators suggest that DTF printing technology is going to become more expensive as its capabilities increase. With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation, the DTF printing process is being streamlined, enhancing quality and efficiency while encouraging more sustainable production, something brands and consumers are becoming more focused on.

Technology specialist Ricoh Europe has introduced its XTF D430 DTF system to serve small and medium print service providers (PSPs) seeking stable, high-resolution output. The compact, roll-to-roll device is powered by Ricoh’s own 1200 × 1200 dpi piezo inkjet heads and features wet-cap technology to keep nozzles clog-free.

An independently controlled four-zone heater enables each colour and white layer to dry evenly, while an integrated cutter supports both roll-to-roll and roll-to-cut workflows for media up to 432 mm wide.

Graham Kennedy, general manager, industrial solutions at Ricoh Europe, says the system “pushes the boundaries of what is possible in custom DTF printing” and “provides our clients with a tool that not only meets but exceeds their expectations.”
