Culemborg, The Netherlands – 20 May, 2025 – Rivertex® Technical Fabrics proudly announces the launch of Rivercyclon® 450 FR, a groundbreaking technical textile that sets a new industry standard for sustainability and performance. As the first flame-retardant polypropylene-based fabric that meets international fire safety standards, Rivercyclon® 450 FR offers a truly recyclable, non-PVC alternative for a wide range of applications.
A First-of-Its-Kind Innovation
Rivercyclon® 450 FR is engineered with sustainability at its core. Unlike traditional PVC-coated fabrics, it is constructed entirely from polypropylene—including a PP 1100Dtex base fabric and a dual-sided modified polypropylene coating. This mono-material composition allows for full recyclability and offers a carbon footprint up to 40% lower than conventional PVC fabrics.
Despite its sustainable design, Rivercyclon® 450 FR delivers uncompromising performance. It is remarkably lightweight, which further reduces material use and transport emissions—making it ideal for applications where sustainability and strength must go hand in hand.
Certified to the Highest Global Fire Safety Standards
Rivercyclon® 450 FR is the first polypropylene-based fabric to meet a comprehensive set of international fire safety certifications, including:
- CPAI 84, NFPA 701-1 (USA)
- BS 7837 (UK)
- DIN 4102-1 B1 (Germany)
- NFP 92-507 M1 (France)
- EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0 (EU)
- AS/NZS 1530 (Australia/New Zealand)
- UNI 9177 Classe 2 (Italy)
Ideal for a Wide Range of Uses
Rivercyclon® 450 FR is designed for sectors actively moving away from PVC, including: Tents and temporary structures, Partitions and banners, Event and exhibition setups, Industrial shelters and architectural installations.
Meeting the Moment in Sustainable Innovation
“As industries worldwide face mounting pressure to reduce their environmental footprint, Rivercyclon® 450 FR is a quick and easy solution to dramatically bring down the carbon footprint by replacing harmful PVC. ” said Boris Gaasbeek, Marketing Manager at Rivertex®. “It combines
exceptional fire resistance with true recyclability—without compromising on strength or performance.”
