This edition is organised by CEMATEX (European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT TEX).

It will not only serve as a critical, globally-focused event for the textile industry, serving as a major technology sourcing platform but also as a vital hub for dialogue on sustainability and regulatory compliance in a rapidly changing global market.

The event comes at a challenging time for the industry – as we have seen for the last five years. According to the International Textile Manufacturers Federation’s (ITMF) 32nd Global Textile Industry Survey (GTIS), conducted in May, 2025 global order intake for textiles & apparel declined for four consecutive months from January to May. This is thought to be for a number of reasons including reduced purchasing power among consumers, leading to a cutback in spending and a consequent decrease in demand – this is particularly true in the EU and US.

Additionally, geopolitical issues, such as conflict in the Middle East, the Ukraine-Russia war and US tariff complexities have all contributed to the inflation of materials and operating costs, squeezing profits and making products less competitive in a time when consumers are already under financial strain. According to the same report, weak demand remains the primary concern for 61% of global participants in the survey over the next six months, with trade tensions and operational costs as secondary issues.

However, the survey does reveal sharp regional variations across the global textile industry. For example, Africa and South America are faring better than East Asia. Overall, though, the industry is showing cautious optimism for the future – a theme that has prevailed since the beginning of the year. Key industry exhibitions such as ITMA Asia + CITME in Singapore are crucial to this persistent optimism. Concentrated technology development, service improvement and networking will prove pivotal to the industry, just as ITMA Milan, Italy did in 2023 – with the so-called ‘ITMA effect’ responsible for a rise in industry confidence and consequent investment.

The following pages of this Showguide will not only speak to some key players at the Singapore exhibition but will also provide you with a comprehensive rundown of the event, how to get there, where to find exhibitors and importantly places to relax and visit whilst in Singapore.
