ISPO brings together sporting goods retail
Press release provided by ISPO
Munich, Germany – 26 September, 2025 - Intersport, Sport 2000, and Decathlon to present future strategies for sports retail on ISPO’s opening day ++ Retail Club continues to gain momentum.
For the first time, ISPO will succeed in bringing together the leading decision-makers of German sporting goods retail on one stage. Margit Gosau, CEO of Sport 2000 Group International, Dr. Alexander von Preen, CEO of INTERSPORT Deutschland eG, and Arnaud Sauret, CEO of Decathlon Germany, will present the future strategies of their retail organizations exclusively at ISPO Munich on November 30, 2025. Afterwards, they will discuss opportunities and challenges together. With this, ISPO, as the global leading trade fair, underlines its positioning and demonstrates in practice that it is not about market share or competition. At the global flagship event of the sports industry in Munich, the focus is on what drives the entire industry.
Under the guiding principle, One Industry. One Future. One Stage., ISPO is establishing a new platform with the panel Future Strategies for Sports Retail, providing participants with fresh impulses for addressing the industry’s challenges. At its core: a dialogue that has not been possible until now. The most important decision-makers in the sporting goods retail sector are joining forces to develop answers to key questions about the future of sports retail, rather than remaining bound to individual interests.
To kick off the session on November 30 at 3 p.m., BBE Handelsberatung will present the key findings of the Future Playbook Sports Retail whitepaper, published in cooperation with ISPO.
Shaping the Future Together
“Together we are driving sports forward, and ISPO is the place where this movement becomes visible: The Retail Conference Stage does not belong to individual brands but serves the entire industry. It shows: If not here, where else?” says Carsten Schürg, Project Manager of the ISPO Retail Club.
This offer further strengthens the structure of the ISPO Retail Club. Members benefit from exclusive insights in this special panel and can carry the dialogue from the conference directly into the sports business community. Afterwards, registered members are invited to happy hour in the Retail Lounge before the ISPO Executive Night rounds off the industry dialogue at the highest level.
ISPO underscores its ambition
For Exhibition Director Lena Haushofer, the Future Strategies for Sports Retail panel sends a clear signal: “With this step, ISPO shows that and how it provides orientation and structure. Community is a key lever for tackling the upcoming challenges in sporting goods retail. That’s why we are not only creating numerous opportunities for business development, but in 2025, we are also placing great emphasis on matchmaking: enabling participants to meet the right contacts in a planned way.”
Once again, ISPO demonstrates its ambition not only to showcase products but to shape the future actively. Digitalization, sustainability, new consumption patterns, and profitability are not abstract issues – they directly determine the industry’s ability to act. The Retail Conference Stage serves to set impulses and make solutions visible.
