Amec Amtex, the Spanish Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association, is exhibiting at Innovate Textile & Apparel to showcase its members’ ‘cutting edge and highly competitive’ solutions.
Spain has been one of Europe’s worst-affected countries regarding Covid-19 this year, from both a health and economic perspective. But Amec Amtex is proud of its members for remaining highly productive despite strict lockdown initiatives across the country. The association says the Spanish textile technology sector worked from home wherever possible and worked longer hours in order to fulfil contractual obligations and complete the delivery of machinery.
A competitive advantage of Amec Amtex members is their commitment throughout the entire purchasing process, the association says, adding: “They strive to build a close and lasting relationship with their customers by providing tailored training and performance testing and remain on hand to provide a thorough aftercare service.”
In order to maintain a high level of customer service throughout 2020, Amec Amtex says its members acted swiftly to implement digital communication technologies early in the pandemic, which enabled them to communicate with their customers in a safe and effective manner.
But despite the pandemic, innovation hasn’t stopped and that is evident by the wide range of innovative solutions on display at Innovate Textile & Apparel. Customers are increasingly demanding highly digitalised manufacturing solutions in order to boost supply chain resiliency post-crisis.
According to Amec Amtex, Spanish textile OEMs have introduced new solutions so that textile manufacturers can boost their “overall equipment effectiveness”. New solutions include waterless finishing machinery from Jeanologia, high-performance software from Inédit Software, and single-pass digital printing technology by KeraJet.
The technical textiles market is one which Spanish textile manufacturers are also looking to exploit. “Spain’s textile technology manufacturers are focused on creating solutions that will help to create textiles that will change our lives. For instance, activewear, PPE, and military apparel,” the association says.
