At this year’s ITMA Asia + CITME, which takes place on 15-19 October, DGI will launch its 3m-wide soft signage printer and industrial sublimation textile printers. The machines will also be launched to the American market at SGIA in Las Vegas, Nevada, on 18-21 October. DGI has been successful in the global digital textile print machinery market with its industrial digital machine with Panasonic and Kyocera print heads since 2014.
One of the new models launched will be the DGI FH-3204. FH, which stands for Fabrijet Hybrid, means the printer can print both special fabrics and sublimation paper in one machine, according to DGI. The FH-3204 is a dedicated printer for soft signage production for 3m-wide printing. DGI says it has doubled the printing speed from the previous model, the FT-3204X, which successfully launched last year for the global soft signage. The main difference between the machines is that the FH-3204 printer uses industrial Kyocera print heads and the FT-3204X uses Panasonic print heads. The company says that using the Kyocera heads on this model upgrades the production level and gives more durability. The FH-3204 can be reach up to 150sqm/h on both soft signage fabrics and sublimation paper.

Additionally, the company says that six individual ink channels can be used including florescent and light colours. The machine is also equipped with a new dancer bar media tensioning system to prevent head strikes. Like the Fabrijet HS FT III, the machine also has a printer monitoring app, which can be downloaded onto mobile devices. It shows information about the printer such as the progress of a print run, the ink level, and job histories.

The Fabrijet HS FT III
The DGI Fabrijet HS FT III is DGI’s industrial line-up of sublimation printer. The HS FT III’s key difference to DGI’s previous machines in this range is the staggered arrangement of four Kyocera print heads. By staggering the print head, printing speed can reach up to 250 sqm/h with a 1.6-metre printing width, says DGI.
The machine’s new heavy-duty take-up system can load jumbo roll sublimation-paper up to 900kg. Another new feature in the HS FT III is the print carriage movement system that has been enhanced with a linear motor, giving a more accurate jetting sequence and higher production speed, claims the company. Up to six colour channels can be used including fluorescent and light colours. The new technology also an enhanced monitoring app for mobile devices, the company adds.
