DuPont will highlight its digital ink offering at the ISS Show in Long Beach California – which gets underway tomorrow (18 January).
As part of the show the DuPont team is planning to showcase its recently launched brand campaign The Color of Things to Come, which includes a new-look website at artistritextile.dupont.com.
With a 25-year history, DuPont’s Artistri digital inks combine the company’s proprietary dispersions, polymers and ink formulations. From the brightest and richest colours to custom formulations, DuPont says its Artistri ink range provides colour consistency across production runs and over time.
At the show, DuPont will showcase its DuPont Artistri Brite Direct to Garment (DTG) ink and pre-treatment portfolio. This includes the recently launched Artistri Brite P5003 pre-treatment for application onto dark-coloured cotton T-shirts that enable efficient and consistent printing combined with bright, wash resistant colour prints, the company says. Artistri Brite P5010 is developed for use with white cotton and polyester shirts and both offer improved wash fastness, white ink setup productivity and excellent tunnel dry and heat press performance, adds DuPont.
The company will also feature pigment inks for both DTG and roll-to-roll (RTR) printing, including a colour expansion to the Artistri Brite P6000 series for mid-viscosity print heads which now includes red, orange and green. The company hopes to improve its share of the digital ink market by selling the benefits of pigments to the US industry. Pigments are more sustainable than dye-based alternatives and allow manufacturers to tap into the personalisation trend, which is growing in America. Dupont sees the ISS Long Beach Show as a launchpad for its US expansion in 2019 and with digital textile printing technology making it more viable for manufacturers to reshore production closer to the end consumer, analysts believe we can expect more high-profile OEMs to target western markets.
DuPont Artistri Xite RTR pigment ink offerings range from low to high viscosity for compatibility with all major print heads and visitors to the booth will be able to view print samples showcasing different ink applications on various substrates.
“We are excited about offering such a broad portfolio of pigment inks and pre-treatments to our customers, allowing them to expand solutions to the more environmentally friendly digital printing for the textile market,” says Eric Beyeler, global marketing manager – digital printing. “Our recent Artistri Brite P6000 DTG ink set gamut expansion and a sneak peek at our newest dark polyester DTG offering are just two examples of our ongoing innovations to support this important and fast-growing market.”
