EFI Reggiani has sold four of its single-pass printers to customers, including two into Pakistan.

One of these companies is Zaman, traditionally a weaving company. The Bolt is the company’s first EFI Reggiani machine which it says it has “always been a fan of”.

Another Bolt was sold to print house Hunbul, also of Pakistan. Reggiani awarded the companies for their vision at a press conference at ITMA.

EFI Reggiani currently has three Bolt machines running: one at its first customer in Italy, one at the EFI Reggiani Demo Center in Bergamo, Italy, and one at ITMA Barcelona.

The 1.8 m-wide Reggiani Bolt printer is designed to give textile manufacturers high uptime and reliability, high performance throughout, and unparalleled printing uniformity and accuracy, in addition to superior print head life and minimal maintenance needs, according to the company. Due to its print head concept and high-performance ink delivery system, the Reggiani Bolt reaches a throughput speed of 90 m/minute at a 600 x 600 dpi resolution. It features high-end imaging in drop sizes from 5-30 picolitres, and also provides premium-quality 600 x 4,800 maximum-dpi resolution printing, allowing customers to address their range of design needs, the company says.

Additionally, EFI is showing the new EFI Fiery BT-1000 digital front end (DFE), which streams jobs directly to the Reggiani Bolt printer at engine-rated speed for top-quality print results and increased profitability, and the newly launched version of EFI Optitex 2D/3D textile CAD software offering streamlined Print & Cut workflow integration with Reggiani printers for up to 15% greater efficiency in textile usage, according to EFI.

The company is displaying the Fiery DesignPro, a suite of Adobe Creative Cloud plug-ins that streamline design of textile repeats, colourways, wovens and knits, plus communicate colour consistently from design to production.

The company also launched the EFI Reggiani Bolt Capsule. The technology is the proofing printer model, designed for samples. It matches the EFI Reggiani Bolt print results to let users preview them before moving to production, says the company. This high-end scanning/multi-pass printer delivers high coverage and uniform printing with accurate fabric feeding. It features the same special, high-quality, highly reliable inkjet heads as the Reggiani Bolt model, with an efficient, innovative recirculation feature to ensure that it stays ready to print without extensive preventative maintenance, the company adds.

The EFI Reggiani portfolio of textile solutions includes a complete, integrated design, colour management and pre and post-treatment solution. Users also benefit from a broad line-up of high-end quality textile inks, including reactive inks from EFI’s recent acquisition of BDR Boya Kimya, along with EFI Reggiani Aqua reactive, Iris dye-sublimation, Aria direct disperse and Terra pigment inks.

EFI’s recent acquisition of Turkish inks company BDR Boya Kimya, according to Adele Genoni, vice president and general manager of EFI Reggiani, means that the company now has an ink manufacturer close to important markets such as Pakistan.

EFI has recently been acquired by Siris Capital Group. Siris is a private equity firm focused on investing and driving value creation in technology companies that provide mission-critical solutions and are facing technology transitions, according to the company.

Frank Mallozzi, chief revenue officer at EFI says that the company is very excited about the acquisition and EFI’s future as part of Siris, and that the leadership team at EFI will remain the same.

As well as the Bolt, the EFI Reggiani Colors printer, a high-quality, highly productive solution that prints with up to 12 colours and offers high printing quality and uniformity with an extended colour gamut, superior colour depth, and increased penetration into fabric, is being displayed at ITMA, the company says.

The company is also presenting the EFI Mezzera indigo dyeing and finishing technology which reduces chemical usage by up to 40% compared with other dyeing technologies and ensures deeper shades and superior fastness, along with the new EFI Reggiani Fuoco water-based acid inks, specifically designed to deliver amazing prints for highly demanding textile applications and colour depth and vibrancy, the company adds.

Also, the EFI Mezzera Denim system – the latest innovation in the renowned Mezzera line of low-impact indigo dyeing and finishing solutions, which uses patented Nitrogen Indigo technology, is also on show as well as the newest version of EFI Optitex software.
