HP has launched a ‘groundbreaking’ new range of textile dye-sublimation printers aimed at print professionals. The products made their worldwide debut at the ISA Show in Las Vegas on 23 April 2019.

The ‘revolutionary’ range of dye-sublimation printers, titled Stitch, are set to reinvent the way industry professionals print using dye-sublimation and offer a host of new features to increase productivity and reduce downtime, according to the company.

The Stitch series couples HP Thermal Inkjet technology with industry-standard dyes for superior colour durability, according to HP.

The HP Stitch S300 printer is designed for new-to-dye sublimation professionals, prototyping departments and growing print providers. The printer includes features set to streamline production, save costs and increase reliability, says HP.

Meanwhile, the HP Stitch S500 Printer is designed specifically for high-production sites. The printer enables predictable dye-sublimation colour and less media waste for production environments.

Alongside the launch of the new digital textile printers, HP has additionally revealed a new set of dye-sublimation papers for the Stitch S series. The company says the papers are designed and tested as a system with HP dye-sublimation inks and the HP Stitch S Printer series to ‘achieve excellent image quality and colour consistency’.

The new S300 and S500 solutions made their debut at the ISA Show in Las Vegas and are scheduled to make their European debut at FESPA in Munich on 14 May 2019. Here, visitors will be given the chance to see additional products complimentary to the Stitch line-up.

According to the company, each system has user-interchangeable print heads, a patented media drying system, integrated built-in colour control, easy end-user colour profiling, a fully automatic smart nozzle compensation system, direct-to-textile and dye-sublimation paper transfer capability for versatility, and ‘so much more’.

The solutions intend to meet the requirements of multiple digital textile printing sectors including high-end and fast fashion, home furnishings, sportswear, soft signage, retail, TFS and exhibitions and education.

RA Smart, a supplier of digital textile systems since 1999, announced their partnership with HP as the ‘exclusive UK and Ireland specialist reseller’ of the dye-sublimation printers. The company was established in 1972, initially as a screen supplier to the textile printing industry and supplier of bespoke textile printing systems.
