Xaar’s 1201 print head made its debut at exhibitions across China, as a number of manufacturers launched innovative printers utilising the Thin Film Piezo Silicon MEMS technology.

The versatile print head was seen integrated within a number of innovations launched at the DPES Huaqiao 2019 Print Expo, held at Huaqiao International Expo Center and the 27th Shanghai Ad & Sign Expo, held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), revealing how Xaar’s advanced offerings are gaining popularity across the East-Asian country.
Companies utilising the print head include Xuli and Refretonic, who had ‘dedicated Xaar zones’ at their stands.
The Xaar 1201 print head is capable of a wide range of industrial applications including graphics and textiles alongside its compatibility with UV, eco-solvent and aqueous inks. In addition, its design incorporates 1,280 nozzles with the potential to produce prints boasting a resolution of over 1,440 dpi and high-print speeds.
Jason Remnant, head of production management at Xaar, says: “We are very pleased to see a number of OEMs [place] their trust and confidence in our print head.”
In response to the popularity of the product, Xaar has also announced an extensive network of help for businesses that are implementing the high-performance print heads. Xaar hopes the measure will ensure faultless integration, a shortened product development cycle and an ‘ecosystem of support’.
Technical support will be provided by Xaar’s distributor in Greater China, Guangzhou HauCheng International Trading Co, which will offer electronics integrators, ink manufacturers and RIP suppliers for those utilising the Xaar 1201.
Remnant adds: “We have already seen over 30 machines installed with the Xaar 1201 print head on display at the graphics trade shows this year and look forward to continuing this growth and development through our support network.”
