RSG Automation Technics will showcase its machinery solutions for effective and sustainable production at WTiN’s Innovate Textile & Apparel virtual trade show this month.

RSG Automation Technics GmbH & Co KG, based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, has long since established itself as the ‘global market leader’ for customised special machinery for the fully or semi-automated processing of narrow fabrics.

The family-run company founded almost 40 years ago, has been working for years to ensure that the processing of textile products is increasingly taking place again in Europe and other high-wage countries. The machines of RSG offer solutions for effective and sustainable production, even at sites with high labour costs, according to the company.

With these systems and production lines, products such as car and aircraft safety belts, airbags, lashing straps, slings, hook and loop materials, and medical textiles can be processed and assembled fully automatically, says RSG.

These multiple patented solutions enable RSG customers to achieve significant time and cost savings, and to increase production capacity and product quality consistently and reproducibly. This is especially the case in the automotive sector, continues RSG, where demand has been growing continuously for years.

“New RSG developments in the field of seat belts and airbags made it possible to implement, for example with six-axis robotics, together with customers, innovative production and manufacturing concepts,” the company says.

During the coronavirus pandemic, customer and product-specific facility concepts have also been implemented in the area of medical textiles, to make possible again the manufacture of urgently needed products for hospitals and medical practices etc locally and independently in the future.

RSG has therefore expanded both its personnel and production area to be able to deliver these machines with the shortest possible processing time. In fact, since December 2019, RSG has grown by over 100% in terms of personnel and will be able to double its turnover this year, compared to the year before, according to the company.

In recent months, RSG has received ‘clear signals’ from its customers that the processing of textiles will undergo lasting and noticeable changes after the coronavirus pandemic. “Many textile companies, unfortunately, had to make the bitter experience that they are too dependent on the Asian market, and can no longer rely on their supply channels,” says RSG.

“For this reason, many companies have already started to relocate their textile production and manufacturing back to Europe in order to increase future local and regional production. This also applies to many RSG customers in the US,” continues the company.

“RSG supports its customers in this very right and important step and provides them with the necessary production technologies to enable processing of textiles in a high-quality, market-driven, modular, sustainable and independent way.”

RSG describes its exhibit at Innovate Textile & Apparel, held from 15-30 October, as ‘breaking new ground virtually’.

“RSG is looking forward to welcoming numerous interested prospective customers,” the company concludes.
