Japan-based Toyobo is unveiling EKS, a heat generating fibre and Gokui, an ultra fine fibre at Expofil, taking place in in Paris later this month.

Toyobo manufactures various synthetic fibres, films, functional plastics and biotechnological products. It was established in 1882 as the first cotton spinning company in Japan and is looking to expand its presence in European markets.

EKS is said to keep the body dry by absorbing perspiration, converting the kinetic energy of water molecules in moisture into thermal energy. It is said to keep the wearer warm and comfortable in cold environments

Gokui is a very fine, spun acrylic fibre. Its 0.5dtex fineness (7 micron diameter) allows creation of thin, airy light and soft hand fabrics which are also said to be easy care and resistant to pilling.
