Brooksbank, a specialist in the manufacture of combi combing aprons for use in the primary processing of wool, exotic and synthetic fibres, is showcasing its products at WTiN’s Innovate Textile & Apparel virtual trade show (15-30 October).
“The products [synthetic combing aprons] are highly specialised, and we are one of only a handful of companies to manufacture them worldwide,” Brooksbank says. The combi combing apron has been implemented by a large percentage of the fibre processing industry and is fully endorsed by a wide range of combing machine manufacturers.
The combi apron has a softer and more accommodating structure than polyurethane alternatives, Brooksbank explains. This results in an efficient drawing off of the sliver, which enables users to achieve a maximum lead and throughput. Moreover, the combi apron helps protect the natural crimp of the wool.
There is also an economic aspect to consider for those who visit Brooksbank’s booth during Innovate Textile & Apparel. The company says a standard combi weighs nearly half as much as a polyurethane apron of the same size, which therefore influences shipping costs.
An apron can be manufactured for all makes of combing machine and there are no limits on size, Brooksbank adds. But evidence suggests that combi aprons perform particularly well when used with NSC, Sant’ Andrea, SMB Leisnig and Mitsubishi combing machines.
North-Yorkshire-based Brooksbank is also promoting its disposable noil brushes during Innovate Textile & Apparel. The company says its combi synthetic and premium brand disposable noil brushes are produced from ‘high-tech and high-performance’ materials and developed to give optimum results on modern high-speed combing machines.
Brooksbank is proud of its heritage; for over a century the company has emphasised the importance of exporting and continues to do so to this day. The company, it reveals, uses an extensive network of agents and distributors to export around 98% of its turnover into more than 50 countries. “Flexibility, keen pricing, and efficient raw materials sourcing have helped meet the needs of different International markets,” the company tells WTiN.
Brooksbank reaffirms its commitment to continuous product development at Innovate Textile & Apparel and is currently creating new materials and products for the global market. To find out more about Brooksbank’s offering, visit the company’s booth by clicking the link above.
